I’d walked by this place a few weeks back early before it was open, and I knew I wanted to return as I was enticed by their menu. Fortunately, on my second walk by, I got there right before 11, so I was able to select one of their breakfast specials. You’ll see in my attached photograph the meal that I ordered. It consisted of rice covered in little fish, with a side of miso soup, and a soft boiled egg. There were some pickled items on the right for flavor. The food was very simple and very quickly prepared (a couple minutes from ordering, it was before me), and a lovely filling meal for ¥700. It offered a healthy, off the beaten path alternative to many of the more touristy restaurants in the area. I visited on a Friday, and they were just two other customers, with plenty of seating. It might look like, from the location on the map, that there might be a pretty view. There isn’t one, but it’s a calming place to be. As someone that moved here from America, I was drawn in today by the twangy country music that was playing. It made me feel a little at home. Some days I really miss living in the United States.
